Security Re-Opens the World

The First Step Back to Normality Is Through Traction Guest’s Access Controlled Door

Part 1 of a 4 Part Series On Technologies For a Post-COVID World

While security innovations are happening every year, there has perhaps never been a more critical time for security directors to be on the lookout for new and improved technologies. And the starting place for those technologies is how we let our employees, staff, customers, or visitors back through our doors after a long hiatus.

COVID-19 sent people home in droves. Now, as vaccinations increase and regulations decrease, offices, retail spaces, restaurants, and many other places are opening their doors to an unprecedented amount of people every day. This boom in foot traffic could tip off one of the most significant regenerative periods in financial history.

But it doesn’t come without challenges or threats. Last year, we at SAGE started looking into new security technologies that would pave the way for the return of people to physical spaces. That series was immensely well received, so now we are bringing you four new technologies that we have spent considerable time researching in preparation for the second- half of 2021. A second-half that we hope will be safe and prosperous for all.

Our first technology, up for a closer look, is Traction Guest’s Visitor Management suite of tools.

Traction Guest Upgrades The Access Control Game

Winner of the prestigious Forbes Cloud 100 Rising Star Award in 2020, Traction Guest emerges at a time when access controls are in dire need of an upgrade. Many companies and organizations are still using access controls that were installed five, ten, even twenty years ago. Moreover, these technologies were developed and installed when visitor cycles and behavior were not as studied and understood as they are now.

But Traction Guest seeks to change the way secure access controls handle visitor cycles by introducing technology that streamlines the guest experience.

Ranging from parking lot protocols (such as requiring identification before being admitted), to lobby checkpoints (where guests must sign-in, sign NDA’s, create a picture-ID badge, and more), to allowing an integrated platform to track guests in real-time until they are out of the building, Traction Guest sets its sights on more than just the interaction that occurs in the lobby.

While their guest management is by far the most prominent tool they offer, Traction Guest is also working to make employees return to work safer and more accessible.

For instance, Traction Guest allows employers to create a “back to work” form, which can be sent to employees before rejoining the office. It can contain items such as NDAs, safety videos, health attestations, and other requirements. Once the form is completed, an individualized QR code can be sent to the employee, which allows them to gain access when they arrive for work.

A unique QR code acts as a hyper-safe and complex passcode, ensuring less unwanted access and greater difficulty for those looking to forge credentials.

Lastly, because of SAGE’s track record working with enterprise-level organizations, the ability of Traction Guest to be effective even on large-scale complexes and its capacity to be managed centrally from one location is an enormous plus. Few companies in the security integration space can offer the same suite of tools as Traction Guest and at such a scale.

All in all, Traction Guest is creating new, streamlined solutions for managing guest visits as well as back-to-work protocols and doing so on a scale that is both important and impressive.

The Meaning Of This Security Moment

Concerned about COVID at work.png

Why are guest controls (and the work of someone like Traction Guest) so important right now? Because in a near post-COVID world, the need to manage visitor and employee access is immensely high.

While the pandemic has changed many of the ways we do business, shop, meet one another, and stay in touch, what we see post-2020 is that people everywhere want to get back to being in physical spaces with one another. This desire drives our search for innovation in the security integration field, as there will always be people looking to take advantage of the hopes and desires of others.

Those looking to return to work, shop in a store, send their child to college, or visit a loved one in hospice care – are particularly vulnerable. SAGE is proud to partner with and recommend companies and software looking to make the most vulnerable among us also the most safe.
